The Civil Sevice Employees Assocation (CSEA), Unit 9201, is a labor organization run by the workers at the Westchester Medical Center in Westchester County, New York. Like other unions, our goal is to self-organize for mutual aid and protection and to ensure our concerns and our interests are heard and addressed.

Our union is empowered under New York state law to represent our members regarding all matters with their employer. Our major duties include:

• Negotiating a contract, or collective bargaining agreement, with the employer which spells out the terms of employment and our working conditions
• Ensuring management lives up to the agreement
• Filing grievances when it is determined that a violation of the contract has occurred
• Educating members about issues that affect their jobs and their livelihoods
• Helping members to mobilize for action when necessary
• Training workers on how to be a good union members
• Building solidarity and good will for our interests in the community
